AI is Disrupting My Business (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

Where Human Thinking & AI Innovation Meet

AI is transforming not just the way I do business, but the way we work. In this issue, I’ll share how I’m embracing this change and how you can, too.

In today’s email:

Let’s dive in!

AI is Disrupting My Business (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

For years, my Startup Foundations Program has been a structured, online process that combines startup education with hands-on application. I’ve guided early-stage founders to explore, experiment, and enhance their business models—doing all the manual work. We’d brainstorm from scratch, dive into customer interviews, and develop innovative, sustainable models. It was intense, often exhausting, but incredibly rewarding.

But now, with AI—thanks, ChatGPT—that part of the journey has completely changed. AI can generate dozens of ideas in seconds, provide instant market insights, and even suggest business models at the click of a button.

So what happens when the thing that used to be central to my offering is now automated?

It’s simple: We evolve.

We’re now building AI assistants and automation to save founders time and provide better, faster support.

Learn with us:

Topics:

  • Shifting the way you think in an AI-driven world

  • Developing an AI mindset

  • What skills do I need to develop?

  • Practical & simple ways to start

I’m helping founders enhance their creativity, harness AI as a tool, and develop the critical thinking and human skills that AI can’t replace.

For instance, one of my clients recently used AI to generate a list of 20 business ideas within minutes. While AI handled the heavy lifting, we worked together to refine the ideas, adding human insight and intuition that only founders can provide.

AI is changing online search! And it's changing how retailers sell and consumers buy.

Most online shopping starts with a Google search, but generative AI is shaking things up. AI-driven answer engines like Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews are now influencing which products get seen during searches.

From Google Search…

To Perplexity?

Instead of relying on traditional SEO strategies, consider how your business can leverage AI-driven platforms (like Perplexity) to get discovered by potential customers.

With these shifts, both consumers and retailers need to stay on top of trends. Start experimenting with AI-generated product recommendations or personalised shopping lists to meet the needs of an AI-savvy audience.

Bits and Bots (and some fun)

Talking to your Machine

ChatGPT’s new Advanced Voice Mode is incredibly realistic—and a lot of fun to use. You can interrupt it mid-sentence, ask it to talk like a pirate, and even interpret your emotions. But it’s more than just entertainment.

It still has many limitations and guardrails, but think about how you can use this in your business. Whether it’s for customer service, voice-based interactions, or even team brainstorming sessions, ChatGPT’s voice mode can add an interactive element to how you engage with others.

What I’m reading:

Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI, a book by Ethan Mollick. I especially like his Four Principles for Embracing AI:

  1. Always invite AI to the table.

  2. Be the human in the loop.

  3. Treat AI like a person (define its role).

  4. Assume this is the worst AI you will ever use.

Here’s a key takeaway:

Mollick emphasizes the importance of treating AI like a collaborator rather than a tool.

Next time you work with AI, try defining a specific role for it in your project—whether it’s research assistant, brainstorming partner, or data analyst—and see how that changes the way you engage with the technology.

If you forget everything else, remember this…

AI isn’t just for tech geniuses, it is for everyone.
